A Night Sky

A vast of almost empty void,
with distance, far, and wide apart

Disconsolate sky, tonight and forever
you'll never be alone

billions, counting more; disconsolate sky,
you'll always have them, grasped tightly with your hold
gravity is your force, and the desert void is your home;
with this, you have us all

heavenly bodies, earthly objects, life regenerating beings, sentients and not;
bizarre, such plethora collection you have

who can blame you,
billions of years, disconsolate sky,
what must have been like for you

all eternity now you'll never be alone
my disconsolate sky, if you are;

make me too, immortal, because here I am for you
